Amongst the popular beaches in India is the Baga beach Goa. Baga Goa lies 10 km west of Mapusa and really speaking is an extension of Calangute. All kinds of odds and ends, handicrafts, jewellery and snacks stalls can be found at Baga and a temporary stage is constructed for the visiting local musician. Baga Goa's nightlife is the liveliest in Goa and is the perfect expression of the Goan and Western mix of culture.

Most of the travellers end up at Tito's, which has the only dance floor and hefty sound system outside a big hotel for miles. Women are allowed in for free, but men and couples have to pay.

The nearest airport is at Dabolim, which is 29 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just half an hour's drive away from Baga. The nearest railway station is at Karmali 11 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just half an hour's drive away from Calangute.
Baga beach is about ten minutes from Mapusa, and thirty minutes from the state capital, Panaji. There are frequent buses to Panaji and Mapusa from Baga and Calangute. Most buses from Panaji terminate at Calangute and a few trudge further on up to Baga. Mapusa is around 8 km away from Baga.
