Baga Beach Goa

About the Baga Beach Goa :

Amongst the popular beaches in India is the Baga beach Goa. Baga Goa lies 10 km west of Mapusa and really speaking is an extension of Calangute. Baga Goa India is smaller than the Calangute and Colva beaches lying on either side of it. Baga Goa is the perfect getaway for those looking for a little bit of peace and quiet after the activity of the other two beaches.

Baga is a fishing beach with brown sand that sees a lot of international tourists sun-bathing in its golden sun, as a grove of palms gently sways in the wind. The Baga River flows along one side of Baga beach Goa offering a good alternative for children and those who are not too confident about swimming in the sea. On one of the far ends of the beach, lies a group of black rocks against which the sea crashes in dramatic explosions of spray.

Baga Goa has developed more rapidly than any other region in Goa. The main road running through the Baga village is lined with several bars, tandoori terraces and handicraft shops. The relatively newer Saturday flea market of Baga Goa, is a huge success and an occasion of much that lasts well into the night, brightly lit up with lights and paraffin lamps. All kinds of odds and ends, handicrafts, jewellery and snacks stalls can be found at Baga and a temporary stage is constructed for the visiting local musician. Baga Goa's nightlife is the liveliest in Goa and is the perfect expression of the Goan and Western mix of culture.

Entertainment & Leisure At Baga Beach :

Thanks to the droves of predominantly British Goa Tour Travel Packages who stay here, Baga's nightlife is the liveliest in the area. Most of the travellers end up at Tito's, which has the only dance floor and hefty sound system outside a big hotel for miles. Women are allowed in for free, but men and couples have to pay.

How to reach Baga Beach Goa:
The nearest airport is at Dabolim, which is 29 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just half an hour's drive away from Baga. The nearest railway station is at Karmali 11 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just half an hour's drive away from Calangute.
